The “Leading the Way: Outcomes over Obstacles” Mississippi Trauma Symposium offers participants the opportunity to assemble as a statewide team. Speakers are selected to present past benefits and ongoing work to mature the trauma system of care, focusing on achieving the best outcomes and navigating obstacles. The 2022 theme will highlight the benefits of the Mississippi Trauma System of Care.
This three-day event is a comprehensive learning opportunity, with inspiring presentations from Mississippi trauma survivors. The agenda includes speakers from all in-state and out-of-state Level I trauma centers and our Level II in state hospitals. A two-day cadaver lab will provide critical hands-on experience. State EMS leaders are planning breakouts. Registrars can receive eight hours of trauma registry training in a live computer lab. The Mississippi State Department of Health Bureau of Acute Care Services representatives will provide information on the current and future state of the trauma system. Dr. Duncan Donald is hosting a panel presentation with representatives from pre-hospital care and the trauma center team. Mississippi Hospital Association representatives will update initiatives to address the staffing shortages and teach attendees how to become effective advocates for the trauma system of care.
The opening night reception at the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience will be unforgettable. Vendors will be on-hand to showcase the latest innovations in trauma care. Thursday night’s banquet will include an awards ceremony.
NOTICE: Any sponsors registering to display at the symposium after April 10 will not be granted an AD in the program.

The Symposium has offerings for all trauma care team members: Emergency Medical Services, Trauma Medical Directors, Trauma Program Managers, Trauma Registrar, Trauma Surgeons, Emergency Physicians, Trauma Advance Practice Professional and others supporting pre-hospital and trauma center staff.
