Dietary, Food and Nutrition Services; Meeting the CMS Hospital and CAH CoPs, DNV Healthcare and TJC Requirements Webinar

Course Curriculum
This program will focus on Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) hospital conditions of participation (CoPs) on dietary, food, and nutrition services. Our speaker will review three guideline changes that went into effect in April of 2015, the C&P process for dieticians, participation requirements and common deficiencies to look for in hospitals. Ms. Calloway will also discuss the provision of care chapter standards related to dietary and the TJC dietary tracer information, as well as the DNV Healthcare dietary standards.

Learning Objectives 
At the completion of this program, the participants will be able to:
1. Identify the Joint Commission tracer for food and dietetic services. 
2. Discuss the CMS section on food and nutrition services in the hospital CoP standards. 
3. Describe the Joint Commission provision of care chapter on dietetic service standards. 

Target Audience
Anyone involved in dietary and nutrition services especially CMO, CNO, COO, dietary staff, TJC/DNV liaison, accreditation personnel, compliance officers, nurses and nurse educators, and others who are involved with dietary services.

Faculty

Sue Dill Calloway has been a nurse attorney and consultant for more than 30 years. Currently, she is president of Patient Safety and Healthcare Education and Consulting and was previously the chief learning officer for the Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation. She has conducted many educational programs for nurses, physicians, and other health care providers. Sue has authored over 100 books and numerous articles. She is a frequent speaker and is well-known across the country in the areas of health care law, risk management, and patient safety. Sue has no real or perceived conflicts of interest that relate to this presentation.
