South Central Health Care Foundation to Host a Free Skin Cancer Screening

Did you know that your skin is your largest organ? It is vital to take care of your skin each day. Different ways to do this include wearing sunscreen daily, drinking lots of water and scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist once a year for a skin check.

On Tuesday, October 25th, Brittany Gardner, FNP, with South Central Dermatology will offer a free skin screening at South Central Place.

Gardner stated, “Many patients do not realize that they have abnormal moles that have skin cancers growing on them. At our last screening we found suspicious spots and cancer. It is a good time to take advantage of a screening to check the skin and evaluate if there is further action needed.”

The free skin screening will be held at South Central Place, by Kroger, in Laurel. The screening will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. While the screening is available at no expense, an appointment time is required. To make an appointment, call 601-399-0506.
