OVERVIEW:
Compliance and ethics programs have shifted from a requirement to a necessary effective process. This presentation will review components of ethics and compliance programs, along with strategies for development, implementation, and effective communication. Additionally, training requirements and methods of reviewing and updating current programs will be discussed.

This program is pending approval from the MS Board of Nursing Home Administrators for (1) one hour of continuing education credit.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the required components of an ethics and compliance program for post-acute care.
  • Discuss the tested strategies that help post-acute care organizations develop, implement, and maintain an effective ethics and compliance program.
  • Identify the mandatory training requirements your Skilled Nursing Facility must implement.
  • Recall the process for the annual review of your ethics and compliance program.

day-to-day operations in regulatory compliance, development of plans of correction, guidance in facility preparation for resurvey, education and training, survey recovery and clinical documentation requirements.
