Webinar: Hospital Accreditation Standards Update

HOSPITAL ACCREDITATION STANDARDS UPDATE
Friday, October 2 | 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

This educational activity is jointly provided by AXIS Medical Education and the Mississippi Hospital Association. AXIS Medical Education designates this continuing nursing education activity for 6.75 contact hours.

Offered through Partnership with North Carolina Hospital Association

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Even though the number of changes to the Joint Commission Hospital Standards are few in 2020, some topics continue to be problematic related to suicide screening, environmental and infection control risk assessments, sterile processing and sterile compounding. The identified topics are still challenging for hospitals to attain and maintain compliance on a consistent basis. Because of staff turnover throughout organizations, it remains important to revisit preparation strategies that can assist those new to their positions as well as reinforce items to seasoned staff.

By attending this year's virtual Joint Commission Update 2020, it will help you to promote participant networking and provide information needed to understand and heighten awareness of new standards, continued problematic standards and requirements for improvement that are being scored during Joint Commission Surveys.

OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

-Identify the changes in the Joint Commission Hospital Standards 2020-2021
-Explain most commonly scored JC findings for the first half of 2020
-Identify preparation strategies related to JC survey
-Distinguish challenging standards related to Infection Control
-Identify the development of monitoring of the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) process for construction projects
-Summarize challenging standards and strategies for Environmental Suicide Risks Assessments
-Summarize challenging standards related to Sterile Compounding
