Medical Records Law 2020

UPDATE: MHA will offer the Medical Records Law meeting on Friday, March 20th.  We will be offering the meeting REMOTE attendance only.  You should have received an e-mail and we will send links out later this week for remote access.

As medical records law continues to evolve, the complexities of how your organization manages these sensitive records now will impact your legal liability later. When improperly handled, your records management practices are far-reaching and potentially damaging to your organization. Proper records management is only a small part of protecting your business from damaging legal issues that will happen without understanding the full scope of what your responsibilities are as it pertains to HIPAA and patients’ rights.

Join Wise Carter at MHA as their attorneys share insights and examples of what you must do and what you should never do when handling this very sensitive subject matter. Review how these laws impact your practice, discover strategies for managing records, and identify best practices for releasing health information. Not knowing does not protect your organization from financial responsibility for damages.

We will offer the following CEs for the meeting:
The MS Nursing Home Administrator Board approved this continuing education activity for 5.0 hours.  YOU MUST ATTEND IN PERSON.
The MS Commission on Legal Education approved this continuing education activity for
5.0 hours.
AXIS Medical Education designates this continuing Quality education activity for
5.0 contact hours.

Thanks to Wise Carter's sponsorship, MHA is able to offer this full-day workshop to members for only $50 and to non-members for $150. Remote attendance is available.
