WEBINAR: ICD-10 CM, Part 2 of 3: Chapters 1-13


Course Curriculum
During part two session of a three-part ICD-10-CM training series, our speaker will review the chapter-specific guidelines associated with coding diagnoses classified to chapters 1 (Certain Infectious and Parasitic Diseases) through Chapter 13 (Diseases of the Musculoskeletal System and Connective Tissue).  This session also includes case studies to aid in comprehension of the associated guidelines.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, the participants will be able to:
1. Discuss chapter-specific guidelines associated with assigning diagnosis. 
2. Identify the first 13 chapters associated with the ICD-10 CM.
3. Evaluate case studies and use lessons learned.

Target Audience
Compliance officers, administrators, COOs, medical staff, medical coders, medical billers, coding consultants, medical coding auditors, practice managers, office managers, billing managers, and others involved in the revenue cycle management process at health care institutions.

Faculty
Catrena Smith, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-I, CRC, CHTS-PW, has over 17 years’ experience in the health information management industry. She is currently the president of Access Quality Coding and Consulting, LLC located in Orange Park, Florida. She has served in many roles such as coding specialist, coding auditor, coding trainer, medical records technician, and coding manager. Catrena is a certified professional coding instructor and conducts numerous educational sessions annually. Catrena has no real or perceived conflicts of interest that relate to this presentation.
