MHA DATABANK (DATABANK) is a web-based database of hospital utilization and financial performance indicators.  The DATABANK is a source of comparable information on average length of stay, outpatient statistics, charges and expenses per day and per stay, uncollected charges, number of days in accounts receivable, gross profitability and a number of personnel statistics.  Access to the DATABANK is part of MHA Membership and available at no charge to participating hospitals.


MHA SMALL AND RURAL HOSPITAL MARKET UTILIZATION FORECAST REPORTS
available through MHA Solutions’ endorsement of Health Forecasts.  This special reporting product for small acute care and critical access hospitals with less than 1,000 annual inpatient discharges is available only to MHA member hospitals.

Health Forecasts provides forecasts based on true local market utilization history

MISSISSIPPI DISCHARGE DATA PROGRAM – a partnership with COMPdata

The Mississippi Legislature enacted changes to Code Section 41-63-4 during the 2008 Regular Session authorizing the establishment of a central data bank by the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH).  MSDH is responsible for the establishment of the data registry program, collection of the data, dissemination of that data and analysis of that data to improve the quality and efficiency of medical care provided in Mississippi health care facilities.  The Mississippi Hospital Association (MHA) is designated as the organization the hospitals may submit data to at the close of each calendar quarter.

MHA has selected one of the most experienced and accurate data programs as our partner to provide the services for the statewide discharge data bank.  COMPdata is the most comprehensive and multidisciplinary source of comparative utilization, clinical, physician, financial, demographic, market share, quality, performance measurement, and severity-adjusted information. The Forecaster provides a summary of Medicare reimbursement for each hospital and post-acute care payment category.  This program is available to MHA member hospitals from DataGen for a nominal price.

 

KeySTATS – MHA has established a relationship with a Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) company offering information-based tools that support MHA’s mission of advocacy and education for our members.  The tools include timely and affordable financial analyses of major reimbursement changes providing real-time information on legislative changes affecting hospitals.  This tool was developed for association use to support advocacy and education on behalf of hospitals.  Impact information and relevant reports are distributed at no charge to all MHA member hospitals.
